Habitat:
Tamarack Swamp. This plant was growing on a sphagnum hummock under a full canopy of Tamarack a few black spruce. The ground layer was degraded from abundant deer, past logging, and former use as a pasture. Associated species included Osmunda cinnamomea, Dryopteris carthusiana, Carex trisperma and Betula papyifera.
