Habitat: This specimen was collected at the beginning of a timed meander survey of a hardwood swamp/floodplain forest, covering about 0.5 acres. The listed GPS coordinates approximate the location of the population, close to the old road bed and the start point of the survey. This site is located on a sandy, former outwash plain of the Wisconsin River and straddles a subcontinental divide. Canopy species were dominated by River Birch and Silver Maple. The sub-canopy was dominated by Cephalanthus occidentalis and Ilex verticillata.
