Habitat:
In dry Pinus resinosa/Pinus strobus forest. Sandy soil. Soil damp from dense shade of forest and nearby wetland. Associates include: Maianthemum canadense, Trientalis borealis, Gaylussacia baccata.

Occasional to locally common.
