Habitat: Early successional pine barren. Mostly herbaceous vegetation with some scattered woody species mostly 2-3 ft tall. Growing with Quercus macrocarpa, Quercus ellipsoidalis, Corylus, Salix humilis, Andropogon gerardii, Schizachyrium scoparium, Bromus kalmii, Artemisia ludoviciana, Artemisia campestris, Liatris sp., Ceanothus herbaceus, Helianthus sp., Pteridium aquilinum, and Crocanthemum bicknellii.
Occurrence Remarks: Wisconsin Botanical Foray 2018.
