Habitat:
Extensive marsh in floodplain of creek. Dominated by Carex spp., with scattered Phalaris arundinacea. With clumps of Cornus obliqua and thin stands of Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Ulmus americana, Juglans nigra.
Occurrence Remarks:
Shrub 2.5 m. tall, with several stems to 2.2 cm. in diameter and 7 years old, in a loose clump; pith brown; twigs only a dull bronzy color now. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. A few white flower but mostly with youung fruit. Here C. stolonifera already has whte berries.
