Slope down from sand terrace to water level of slough; soil sandy. At edge of water and slope. With Osmunda regalis, Apois americana, Ilex verticillata at edge of water and slope.
Occurrence Remarks:
Herebaceous vine. Petals light purple, the flowers drying more bluish than when alive.
