Habitat:
Growing among limestone boulders of the Niagara Escarpment atop the hill. Growing in association with Tsuga canadensis, Acer saccharium, Betula papyrifera, Diervilla lonicera, Ostrya virginiana, Symphoricarpus albus, Swida rugosa, Solidago flexicaulis, and Maianthemum racemosum.
Occurrence Remarks:
Common plant. Flowers tiny and white with styles shorter than the petals. Plant odorless. Fruits immature; base of stems red.
