Habitat:
Edge of lawns and thin fringe of native and unplanted trees, Juglans nigra (common), J. cinerea (rare and without butternut canker), Acer negundo, Fraxinus pennsylvavnica var. subintegerrima. About 2 meters above normal water level of creek, but subject to catastrophic floods and with sand deposition in some places.
Occurrence Remarks:
Small tree. Fruit brown, hanging. See no. 63924 for a staminate individual without any indication of fruit.
