Habitat:
Ridgetop woods dominated by Quercus alba and Q. rubra, with Ostrya virginiana, Prunus serotina, Tilia americana, Frazinus americana, Acer rubrum and a few A. saccharum.
Occurrence Remarks:
Sapling 2.5 m tall, the canopy here thin enough for this to produce nearly typical leaves; if more shady the leaflets thinner, more veiny and wider, with aspect much different from sun leaves.
