Habitat:
Dominated by Pinus resinosa, with P. banksiana, Betula papyrifera, Aralia hispida, Quercus ellipsoidalis, Q. velutina, Q. alba, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Gaylussacia baccata.
Occurrence Remarks:
Common on top, forming stands, shrublets to 1 m. tall, the stems to 0.9 cm. in diameter, difficult to count the rings. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. Fruit green.
