froming a few-stemmed clump but often in larger colonies or clones to 2.5m tall, stems 2.2 cm in diameter; also with some slightly larger stems, apparently the maximum size but these then dead; common along Hwy 80 in the vicinity of Sprague; shrub; 5 years old
