Habitat: Large sedge-Typha latifolia marsh with Larix laricina but probably no Ericaceae; adjacent lower edge of forest of Acer saccharum, A. rubrum, Fraxinus americana, F. nigra
Associated Species: Eupatorium perfoliatum, E. maculatu, Chelone glabra, Alnus incana ssp. rugosa
Occurrence Remarks: Clump of several stems, these somewhat fluted, ca. 5 m. tall, to 9 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw.; Many of next-year's staminate catkins, but few of this year's pistillate green "cones".
