edge of forest; roadside bulldozed within last year or so; nearly full sun; vegetation rather sparse; diverse array of native and introduced species; under light shade of Acer saccharum, Ostrya virginiana, and Betula alleghaniensis; disturbed fine sandy loam
Occurrence Remarks:
invasive plant survey conducted by the Great Lakes Indian Fish & Wildlife Commission; ranges in size from ca. 0.1 to 1 m tall; more or less beet-red, most redder than this one
