Growing with Betula allegheniensis, Quercus alba, Betula papyrifera, Pinus strobus, Acer rubra, Acer saccharum, Hamamelis virginiana, Rubus allegheniensis, Maianthemum canadense, Mitella diphylla, Poa pratensis, Podophyllum peltatum, Stellaria longifolia, Trientalis borealis, and Dryopteris intermedia.
