Moss-carpeted, downed Thuja log in heart of Tsuga canadensis-Thuja occidentalis swamp (many Thuja trees dead) with Tsuga & Thuja seedlings, Clintonia borealis, Coptis trifolia, Gaultheria hispidula, Lycopodium annotinum, Maianthemum canadense, & Trientalis borealis, next to them on the “ground” Carex brunnescens, C. leptalea, Geum cf. aleppicum, Saxifraga pensylvanica, & Solidago patula.
