Habitat: Northern Hardwood swamp dominated by Fraxinus nigra. Growing with Acer rubra, Betula alleghiensis, Thuja occidentalis, Alnus rugosa, Cornus canadensis, Ilex verticillata, Caltha palustris, Carex crinita, C. leptalea, Coptis trifolia, Glyceria striata, Platanthera huronensis, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Perennial, counted 27 sterile and 2 fertile (one of the fertile was 3 feet tall). Quadrangle Name: Bennett
