Habitat:
Dry to dry-mesic prairie on W-facing slope, in sward of Bromus inermis where nutrients come off the field above, heavily encroached by Prunus serotina & Zanthoxylum americanum (very abundant). Immediate assoc.: Cornus racemosa, Hypoxis hirsuta, Pastinaca sativa, Poa pratensis, Solidago canadensis, S. ptarmicoides, Taraxacum sp., & Viola pedatifida.
Occurrence Remarks:
Forming a very loose clone (stems remotely separated). Unusual habitat for this species.
