Leaves: densely hairy, stalked, oblong to lance-shaped, 1/2"-3" long, 3-parted
Flowers: 5-parted, 1/4" long; inflorescence a loose, long-stalked head of stalkless flowers
Fruits: 1/2"-1" long pod coiling when open; several woolly seeds
Habitat: dry to moist; shores, dunes, woods; in sandy soil
