Plants: erect to drooping, annual/biennial, 8"-16" tall forb to almost herbaceous vine; sometimes twines or scrambles over other vegetation
Leaves: tiny, scale-like, mostly alternate, lower sometimes opposite
Flowers: yellowish, 4-parted, 1/8" long, stalked, petals lance-shaped; inflorescence a branched cluster (panicle); blooms July-Sept.
Habitat: wet; swamps, bogs, meadows
Conservation Status: Special Concern
