Plants: erect, perennial, 2"-14" tall shrub forming large colonies Leaves: deciduous, smooth, narrowly elliptical with tiny, sharp teeth Flowers: white, 5-parted, 3/8" long, urn-shaped, lobes shorter than the tube; blooms May-June Fruits: blue, shiny berry with many seeds Habitat: moist to dry; woods, forests, bogs, clearings; in rocky, sandy soil
