Etymology: Rumex: the ancient Latin name for the docks or sorrels
Plants: perennial, to 7' tall, stout, smooth forb; stems unbranched to the inflorescence; taprooted Leaves: pale green, slightly curly at edges, oblong to 6" wide, side veins at 45-60 deg. angle from the midrib Flowers: 6-parted; inflorescence branched cluster up to 20" with small leaves near the base of the stout branches Habitat: disturbed sites Conservation Status: Introduced - locally established |
