Etymology: Ranunculus: from Latin rana, "little frog," because many species tend to grow in moist places
Plants: erect, annual, to 4" tall forb, finely fuzzy Leaves: 2 or 3 times deeply 3- lobed, segments narrow Flowers: pale yellow to whitish, normally 5 greenish sepals; petals smaller, narrower, with time the veins becoming pink Fruits: dry seed, in cylindrical or oval bur Hazardous: Careful, this plant is hazardous!
