Leaves: up to 12" long; oblong, pinnately-lobed, oak-like, the stalk often winged only near the stem, mostly opposite
Flowers: head white to yellow, 3/8" wide; inflorescence clusters of heads at the ends of the branches; blooms June-Sept.
Fruits: dry seed without fluffy pappus
Habitat: moist; woods, forests, cliffs
