Leaves: opposite, mostly stalkless
Flowers: whitish to slightly yellowish or purplish, 4-parted, 3/8" long, tubular-shaped, with downward pointing spurs; inflorescence loose, branched, separated clusters with 5-9 stalked flowers; blooms July-Aug.
Habitat: moderate moisture to wet; conifer forests, bogs
