Etymology: Chenopodium: from Greek chen, "goose," and pous, "foot," or podion, "a little foot," referring to the shape of the leaves in some species
Plants: erect to bending, annual, 4"-16" tall forb usually branched from the base
Leaves: lance-like to oblong, very white-mealy on the bottom, edges widely-toothed to wavy, no glandular hairs
Flowers: greenish, tiny, 3(4)-parted, no petals; inflorescence small, ball-like, separated clusters; blooms May-Sept.
Habitat: disturbed areas
