Plants: erect, perennial, 1'-3' tall forb with anise or fennel smell; stems square, sometimes branching above Leaves: opposite, whitish beneath, coarsely toothed, largest to 4 1/2 " Flowers: blue, 5-parted, 1/3" long, slightly irregular, hairy; ![]() Fruits: 1-seeded nutlet Habitat: full to partial sun; dry to moderate moisture; woods, prairies, uplands; in sandy, loamy soil Conservation Status: Native
