Plants: annual forb, up to 3'-4' tall; sap not milky; taprooted Leaves: alternate; triangular with somewhat heart-shaped base, deeply rounded teeth Flowers: purplish-green, no petals; inflorescence of several flowers in 1" rounded clusters (cymes) from the leaf axils; blooms summer into fall Fruits: white, oval, 3-angled achene that explodes when ripe Habitat: fields, disturbed areas, often with ornamental plants Conservation Status: Introduced - adventive |
