Plants: erect, perennial forb with many branches; creeping, colony forming roots
Leaves: mostly alternate, white hairs below, 2-3 times pinnately-divided
Flowers: inflorescence of many, small, gree, bead-like heads on spikes; blooms May-Aug.
Fruits: not on fluffy pappus
