Plants: erect/prostrate, annual/perennial, 4"-12" tall, succulent forb with many branches Leaves: opposite with some secondary leaves, linear, with small papery appendage at the base Flowers: pink, 5-parted, 1/8"-1/4" wide, petals shorter than the sepals; inflorescence on long stalks from the leaf axils; blooms May-Aug. Fruits: capsule with wingless seed Habitat: dry; woods, forests, often in road beds; in sandy, gravelly soil Conservation Status: Introduced - naturalized |
