Etymology: Leucanthemum: from Greek leukos, "white," and anthemon, "flower," C. leucanthemum is the Old World ox-eye daisy
Plants: erect, perennial, 8"-24" tall forb usually with unbranched stems
Leaves: alternate, lower leaves up to 5" long, lobed or toothed, stalked; upper fewer, smaller and becoming stalkless
Flowers: head 1"-2 1/3" wide with 15-35 white ray flowers, yellow disk 1/3"-3/4" wide; inflorescence of one head at the ends of the branches; blooms June-Aug.
Fruits: cylindrical, dry seed with 10 ribs and no fluffy pappus
Habitat: disturbed sites, fields, pastures
Invasiveness: Invasive - Eradicate!
Conservation Status: Introduced - naturalized; ecologically invasive
