Plants: tangling annual, 1"-6" tall forb; stems weak
Leaves: alternate, stalked, deeply divided into 3-7 narrowly oblong parts
Flowers: white, 3-parted, 1/8" wide, oblong petals shorter than the sepals; solitary on long stalks from the leaf axils; blooms May-June
Fruits: warty, not smooth
Habitat: moderate moisture; woods, often in spring seeps; in rich soil
Conservation Status: Native
