Etymology: Descurainia: in honor of Francois Descourain (1658-1740), a French pharmacist and botanist
Plants: erect, annual/biennial, 12"-32" tall forb, grayish from fine, white fuzz
Leaves: stem leaves 2-3 times pinnately-divided into fine, feathery leaflets
Flowers: yellow, 4-parted, 1/8" wide; inflorescence a loose cluster of stalked flowers; blooms May-July
Fruits: long, thin pod, not drooping; seeds in 1 row
Habitat: disturbed areas
Conservation Status: Introduced - naturalized
