Habitat: Pine Barren in sand prairie with scattered small trees and low shrubs. Growing with Prunus serotina, Corylus americana, Comptonia peregrina, Andropogon gerardii, Carex pensylvanica, Conyza canadensis, Solidago juncea, S. nemoralis, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. Small tree about 15 feet tall.
