Habitat:
Extensive marsh of Typha, Sparganium with scattered Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, and patches of Larix laricina surrounded by Toxicodendron vernix, but without Sphagnum or Ericaceae. Floodplain of river but mostly isolated from influx of silt during floods.
Notes:
Loose clump of slender stems (or perhaps several tighter clumps in a colony?), to 2.5 m. tall, 2.8 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood specimens in Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Twigs orange and yellow, not brittle at base. Leaves glaucous below.
