Habitat:
On sand terrace at edge of plantation of Pinus strobus and dropoff to floodplain forest of Acer saccharinum, Juglans nigra. With Tilia americana, Castanea dentata (both planted and naturalized), Gleditsia triacanthos.
Occurrence Remarks:
Young tree 8 m. tall. Voucher for wood specimens, Kw, Lw, Madw, MEXUw, RSAw. Near end of flowering period; corolla white with purple and yellow marks within. Leaves highly variable in size on one twig, the largest often very shallowly lobed.
