Stand of Pinus resinosa with understory of young Abies balsamea, Corylus cornuta, Prunus pensylvanica.
Notes:
Shrub 2.5 m. tall, the largest stems 1.7 cm. in diameter and 6 years old, forming a loose clumps. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Fruiting involucre green, rather few and this is a common species here.
