Habitat: Old pasture slope in small valley, with Zanthoxylum americanum at edge of woods with Quercus macrocarpa.
Notes: Treelet recently blown over in a storm the last living stem in what appears to be a clone with this reaching the maximum size for the species; 13 m. tall, 15 cm. in diameter, 17 years specimens, Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Inflorescences all this unusually small size.
