Floodplain of river, along bike trail, formerly a railroad line, with Salix nigra, Acer saccharinum, Quercus ellipsoidalis, Q. macrocarpa.
Notes:
Tree, 9 m tall, 15 cm in diameter, 9 years old, in clumps of up to ca. 10 stems, none larger than this one. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw; mature leafy twigs and fruit from a different trunk of this same individual collected on 5 July 2014 under no. 61281. Sprouts developing from an 80 cm. long section of trunk as long as a month after being cut and two pressed 1 July 2014. Twigs tough in the middle, but very brittle at the base. Pistillate.
