Habitat: With scattered Populus deltoides, Corylus americana, Alnus rugosa, just slightly higher than marshy area dominated by Phalaris arundinacea in floodplain of river.
Notes: Clumps with ca. 10 stems, up to 5 m tall, the largest stem 8 cm in diameter; the stems reaching this size or a little larger, then being replaced by smaller stems. Pistillate.
