Habitat:
Secondary forest of Populus tremuloides, Abies balsamea, with small zone of Alnus incana ssp. rugosa marsh along stream.
Occurrence Remarks:
Dominating marshy area along creek, with Carex, Onoclea sensibilis. Always in clumps with several stems, most all of these leaning to some extent, to 5 m tall, wood specimens from stem 6.5 cm in diameter, a few with stems larger than this one, but then senescing and dying. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. A few old brown, dry pistillate "cones" still present.
