Habitat: Secondary forest of Populus tremuloides, Betula allegheniensis, B. papyifera, Acer rubrum, A. saccharum, Abies balsamea, Fraxinus nigra.
Notes: Shrub 2.2 m tall, with single stem, 2.8 cm in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Twigs green. Inflorescence erect; flower buds creamy white, the open flowers white.
