Habitat: Young woods, on E-facing slope, with Carya cordiformis, Tilia americana, Fraxinus americana, Ostrya virginiana, with Podophyllum peltatum.
Notes: Rare in this woods, a clump of many arching stems of various sizes, the largest to 1.5 m tall, 1.7 cm in diameter, the smaller one replacing the larger ones. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Wood bright yellow. Flowers light yellow, hanging, visited by bumblebee (5:30 P.M., sunny).
