Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Richland, 2 mi. NW of Blue River, floodplain of the Wisconsin River, along the channel (usually with flowing water) flowing into Garner Lake.

Habitat: Floodplain forest dominated by Acer saccharinum, with Ulmus americana, Betula nigra, Quercus bicolor, the understory herb layer sparse, muddy from recent immersion during high water. Boehmeria cylindrica, Laportea canadensis, Pilea pumila.
Notes: Edge of floodplain woods and extensive marsh, also a few smaller clumps seen in the forest understory. There is a large population at the edge of floodplain woods and open water of Garner Lake opposite the boat landing area, 0.7 km to the SW. Loose clump of 7 main stems, to 3.5 m. tall, 8.5 cm. in diameter, with some smaller ones. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Heads yellow-green with brown calyx lobes.
