Habitat:
With Acer negundo, Sambucus canadensis, Phalaris arundinacea, Lonicera x bella complex, Corylus americana. In broad river valley.
Notes:
Loose clump 2.5 m tall, of ca. 20 stems to 1.5 cm in diameter, but definitely sprouts from trunks to 6 cm in diameter. This same individual collected in leaf on 3 July 2015 under no. Nee 62319. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Staminate; catkins with many filaments wilted, much visited by same small insects (Diptera?, 4:00 P.M.) as the pistillate plant (Nee 62083).
