Habitat: Unshaded habitats, mostly native plants (Polygonum pensylvanicum, P. lapathifolium, Bidens cernua, Penthorum sedoides, Phyla lanceolata) along bank of river and in shallow drainage ditch; and weedy introduced and native species (Sporobolus vaginiflorus, Eragrostis pectinacea, Ambrosia trifida, Chaiturus marrubiastrum, Rorippa sylvestris, Polygonum scandens) along disturbed area where dirt and branches piled.
Notes: Erect, in gravelly and weedy area. Inflorescence bristles orangish yellow.
