Habitat: Small area (logged?) of 2nd-growth trees, with Ostrya virginiana, Betula papyrifera, Prunus serotina, Crataegus sp., Thjua occidentalis, Quercus alba. Found throughout forest except in the wettest areas, usually associated more with Acer saccharum and Tsuga canadensis.
