N facing slope, shaded by Tilia americana, Juglans nigra, Corylus americana. With Poa compressa, ?P. pratensis.
Notes:
Primary Sampling Unit (PSU) 5, "Population" 5, individual 1. In bud. Within population achenes with hairs on angle, one head very fruitful, one head in bud. Voucher for chromosome counts of "Popn. 1"-1A & "Popn. 5"-8: 2n = 22 II, 10 & 7 cell counted, respectively (1971 Mar 20 & 23 and 1971 Apr 3 & 1972 Apr 1, respectively). PSU 5, "Populations" 1 (in part), 4 & 5 form one biological population; mostly well past anthesis and shedding fruit, with flowering stalks aready gone, and only freakish plants in anthesis & these rare. ("Populations"" 1 (in part), 2 & 3 are true Packera plattensis.)
