Habitat: Mature northern mesic forest (Acer saccharum-Fagus grandifolia) atop mile-long, 50- to 60-ft.-high old wooded sand dunes; shrubs: Amelanchier sp., Corylus cornuta (rare); herbs: Aralia nudicaulis (abundant), Carex arctata (common), C. communis, Dryopteris intermedia, Huperzia lucidula, Lycopodium annotinum, L. dendroideum (very abundant), Polygonatum pubescens, Polygonum cilinode (uncommon), Trientalis borealis (abundant), and Uvularia sessilifolia (occasional).
Notes: Clump with 46 fertile culms. Occasional.
