Habitat: Narrow gravelly edge of trail in semishade of strip of beat-up Populus tremuloides woodland; assoc.: Carex aurea (rare), Equisetum arvense, Fraxinus pennsylvanica seeedlings, Oenothera rosettes, Poa pratensis, and Solidago gigantea. Moist open, weedy and grassy, right-of-way between trail surface and bounding woodland. Here and there all along the 1.1-mi.-stretch of trail we walked.
