Habitat: On open, disturbed ground on both sides of gravel road. Dry, sandy, gravely soil. Full sun. Sparse vegetation includes scattered, stunted Rubus alleghaniensis, Myrica peregrina, Rosa acicularis, Carex tonsa cf., Danthonia spicata, Scleranthus perennis, and Centaurea stoebe. Open, cutover woods bordering road corridor of Pinus resinosa, Pinus banksiana, Quercus rubra and Prunus serotina.
